The Board of Directors of Navajo Nation Oil and Gas Company (NNOGC) today announced the appointment of John A. Brooks as President and Chief Executive Officer of the Company.

The Chair of the Board, Lennard Eltsosie, said, “NNOGC is delighted to have secured the services of John A. Brooks to be the new leader of this important company. He has a very distinguished career as a petroleum engineer with several decades of service to the industry, most recently as President and CEO of the US public company Penn Virginia, which he re-positioned as a leading and very successful oil producer in Texas. He has extensive experience working in many oil and gas areas in several states in the US.”

John A. Brooks stated, “I am certainly looking forward to guiding NNOGC in its primary businesses of downstream C-Store services, mid-stream oil pipeline operations, oilfield services, and of course in the very important upstream oil, gas, and helium exploration and production in and around the Navajo Nation.”

The company’s Acting CEO and current CFO, David Rubenking, is to be retiring from the company shortly after serving the company as a key officer for more than 12 years. Chair Lennard Eltsosie stated: “We genuinely appreciate the many years of outstanding service from David Rubenking and thank him for his help in transition as we bring John A. Brooks onboard to lead the company as its new President and CEO.”
